1 Samuel 1: 1-11, 1 Samuel 2:21

Hannah was a married barren woman who desired a son. In 1 Samuel 1:10, we read where Hannah was in bitterness of soul as she prayed to the Lord while weeping in
anguish. In vs 11, she made a vow to the Lord, asking if indeed He would look at her
affliction in not being able to conceive, and that if the Lord should give her a son, she would give him back to the Lord all the days of the child’s life – a life of service unto God.

God answered Hannah’s prayer and in vs 26-28 she prays to the Lord offering the child back to God because He blessed her with a son. Verse 28 She utters, “therefore I also have lent him to the Lord as long as he lives, he shall be lent to the Lord.

Giving up her son Samuel to the Lord did not go unnoticed by God.

In chapter 2:21 the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the Lord.

There is nothing God cannot do.
